System a heats lave 15/19 and is located upstairs. It was installed with twin line and a tiger loop. Oil pump is Danfoss BFP 41 l3. We ran out of oil last week and delivery has only just been made. It tries to fire when you press the lock out button but then goes back to lock out. Trying to bleed it and getting a lot of bubbles is this normal? Am I doing the right thing? Anything else that this may be? Thanks

If your getting bubbles at the pump, then your pulling oil up hopefully.
Keep going till you get oil and then try it

If you do struggle you might have to get an Engineer out

If it will not prime, you should get an engineer out who will use a vacuum pump to pull up the oil (cheaper than replacing a fooked BFP41L3 pump!)
moral of the tail - people with oil fired boilers on the 1st floor should NOT run out of oil! ;)

dependent on distance from oil tank to tiger loop will determine how long it will take to prime. danfoss pumps are normally better at priming than riello.

would expect it to take up to about 10 lockouts to pull through. don't do too many more or it will damage the pump

An outboard engine fuel line with its squeazy priming bulb works well in these circumstances and is cheaper than a vacuum pump. :)
