After installing a new pressure guage to a worcester240 bf combi I noticed that the pilot light had been extinguished. After several attempts to relight said pilot to no avail I fitted a new thermocouple. Still no joy. I contacted worcester tech to be told that a new gas valve is required. There are 3 wires from the overheat thermostat connected to the gas valve. If the overheat thermostat has operated can it be reset and if so how?

Follow wires back to where overheat stat reset button is and check it has not popped out usually litte red one but worcesters put them in several places depending on model, also some where off the self resetting type .Iwould suspect overheat stat as opposed to gas valve

Have managed to repair fault.Overheat stat was not the type that can be reset. When it goes it disables the pilot.I replaced stat and now it is working fine thanks
