Open porch - plaster or render?

Should I use plaster or render to finish a wall in an open porch? I plan to tile the lower half of the wall and paint the top half once the finish is dry.

Something a bit like this:

Due to location and constant temp changes, not to mention the ingress of moisture, a render finish would be better suited.
