Shower Problems

hi i had a shower pump fitted last year. but sometimes it does not work .then a few days later it will work.this is the second pump fitted.the plumer did not fit an essex flange.could this be the problem? as when you switch off the water . and try to switch back on it wont start.thanks

To get enough flow to operate the flow which turns the pump on, you need a minimum "head" of water, between the shower and the tank feeding the hot water cylinder. Yours may not be enough, the solution to which is a more expensive "Negative Head" pump.

Try lowering the shower head, which might start it up.

shower head is fixed .plumer put new water tank in the loft which is above the shower.the pump is right next to the hot water tank.thanks alex
