Wet Walls

Going to install 'wet walls' to shower area for first time. Should wall behind be weterproofed first n if so what with? Also what is best way to fix the wet wall to the wall. Any advice on sealing also appreciated. Thanks.

im from canada wet walls is new to me do you mean tiles if so do it right strip to studs, apply backer board or cement board screwed securley to studs don't forget to insulate if needed cement joints to smooth finish use epoxy cement to apply tiles and grout use sealer for grout as per mfg. instructions

hi there...do you mean a wet room. as in walls tiled and floor tiled with the use of a drain in the floor :?:

if so. then you will need to tank all the areas to be tiled. make sure you have the correct fall for the water to go down the drain.

do a google search for wet rooms.


if this is not what you mean can you please make it more clear :D
