I have built a stud wall in my kitchen against the brick wall on one side to hide pipes and things in..

the upper section I have fitted 12mm plywood to so that I have something decent to fix the cabinets too..

the bottom half will be 12mm plasterboard..

Is it ok to just tile onto the wood above where the counter top will be or do I need to add a second layer of plasterboard to cover the wood and bottom layer?

also, above the upper cabinets I want to walpaper.. can I do that straight onto the wood?

You should be ok to tile on it provided you use the correct adhesive,a 1 part flexi will probably be best. How far apart are the studs under the boards,12mm may flex a bit,one of the other guys on here will be able to advise you a little better.

studs are 450 appart to take 900 wide plasterboard..

studs are fixed to wall mid length with steel bracket..

very solid wall.. shouldn't move much if at all..
