Testing a solder joint for leaks ....

Hi there

Is there any way of testing a soldered joint/(s) for leaks when practising soldering? I don't have a pressure tester (Hilmor/Rothernberger ones are well over £100)!! :( - any other ways to test under pressure? Thanks for any tips... :)

cap one end, connect other to outside tap turn on and watch.
 
thanks i will try that. i have compression service valves that i suppose i could use as a cap (when turned off)!! :)

i guess you are talking about end feed.
if cleaned & fluxed correctly & solder appears opposite, its fine.
