Hi,

I had to drain down my system yesterday to remove a rad. When I re-filled the system the boiler would not fire up. The fan neon light was flashing - (fault guide says problem with air pressure switch).
I opened up boiler to find the band clamping the fan outet elbow to the flue had snapped. Think this was casuign the air pressure problem I put a large jubillee clip around the joint to seal it back up. Still boiler will not kick into life. There is nothing blocking flue so it must be air pressure switch I presume - anyone with any other ideas?

Cant really help you there you should not attempting to repair your boiler as you are not qualified and it is a safety issue !! call a corgi engineer out

i understand what you are saying but I am an engineer by trade and to remove two screws, three elec conns and two tubes and replace the pressure switch why would I need to call someone out. If this doesnt work then I would call someone out.

if the fan is running then it is almost certainly a problem with A.P.Switch or Venturi which is where hoses connect onto fan ;)

ok to be exact the guide says check elec and tube connections, check for blockage of pressure tubes, restriction in flue and check venturi - if not any of these change pressure switch
