surrey or essex flange

Im working in a large bungalow which had its hot supply on a loop from the cylinder using essex flange on the side which ive now changed. was just wondering if i could use a surrey as it has the 2 connections or is that a really stupid idea :rolleyes: All help appreciated cheers

Surrey would do the same job, although have a look at a warwick flange. Nearly the same as a Surrey, but has the added benefit of bothe 'holes' being the same size.

The Surrey restricts the secondary 'hole' slightly.
 
using a surrey flange will not work what you have is a secondary return so the hot water is always circulating in the roofspace therefore when you pull the hot water off your only drawing it from where the secondary is teed into it therefore without drawing loads of cold water so for it to work the return needs to be about 1/3rd of the cyld down from the draw off hight
