Combi boiler diverter valve - when hot water is on (tap opened) the diaphragm should deflect and move a spindle which makes contact with a micro switch - thus letting the primary hot water (from the primary HE) heat the domestic hot water instead (ia the secondary/plate HE) ... right?

but should there be a flow switch also near the diverter valve, which operates also, or is this just for the temperature? ...

sorry i am trying work out how it works ...

valiant make.

what's the point of a flow switch as well as the diverter valve with microswitch on top then....

which vaillant they work differently dependant on age.

If you have a diverter with a hw flow switch and another on top then the other is for the primary flow / pump flow

oh i see, some just use the microswitch on top and some use a switch on top and a separate flow switch for the hot water.

my boiler is about 8-10 years old.

just trying to learn how it operates.

8-10 year old vaillant. Im presuming a turbomax then with the black control panel with green dials.
