Which trade to get into??

Bricklayer i think is the best trade to get into £150 a day where we are (south coast) i know because i am now a general builder never been short of work we do groundworks, brickwork and roofing perhaps 50% of the total jobs we do

good enough for a builder i wouldn't pay them any more.

I better add i pay £150 per day not price on that, nearer £220 for a trowel but i was trying to emphasise that it is a good trade as a grounding
for the general work i now do.

£150 is an enormous amount IMO if its what you are taking home.
Wish I could earn that. Sigh.
I work six days a week to make ends meet so that would be £900 per week. Wow.
Brickies round my way are on £50 per day. Little or no work available.
Brother who's a builder and general all rounder like Noseall just lost his job. Company he worked for just went belly up and 10 weeks work unpaid.
Personally if I was starting out again I would try and become a service technician whether it be washing machines, fridges, engines or other mechanical contraptions.
In any economic downturn things always need fixing and less stuff needs making. BiL is a mechanic and tells me he's never been busier.
