Loose tap

4 months ago I did up my bathroom including new bath and taps. The hot water tap is slightly loose, by this I mean you can spin the tap body round slighty both clockwise and anti clockwise. (you can maybe turn it 10 degrees max)
Someone told me that this will result in the tap eventually becoming completely loose and water leaking etc

Do I need to fix this? I assume I need to remove the bath panel and access the tap from beneath.
Thanks

I would replace it. You need a strange looking wrench that has two buck teeth on each end to grip the (usually plastic) nut under the tap. Only give it a 1/4 turn, or you risk splitting the bath itself.

Screwfix sells a basin wrench for £2.29 (code 13294-37)

Buy a brass backnut and do it up properly! If you clean everything thoroughly and put some silicone under the tap it'll help.
