We experienced problems last week with our boiler losing pressure, whihc is still happening. We think we have identified the problem; a leaky fitting on the pipe leading to the radiator in the hall (we took this radiator off last week so wonder if we may have disturbed this slightly?).

Anyway, we are thinking of draining the system to replace the fitting to see if this works; would this be a good place to start?

The only other thing we can think of is that there could be a leak underneath the floor?

We know how to drain the system (read the FAQ's) but not sure on re-filling; it's a Worcester boiler, is it just a case of using the key & valve like we do when topping up the pressure?

Does item 41 of the Plumbing & Heating FAQs (//www.diynot.com/wiki/plumbing:faq41) help you with this?

Yes I saw that topic about topping the boiler up but wasn't 100% if that was the way to re-fill it completely.

We're concerned that if replacing this fitting doesn't solve the pressure problem, that it's the pipes underneath. There's laminate flooring down so it's not that easy to take up just to have a look, but you can see around the edges that it's concrete underneath which I guess isn't good!!

The radiator is still off, we have decorators coming in on Monday which was the whole reasoning behind taking the radiator off in the first place. If we try to fix this fitting then put the radiator back on, is this likely to make a difference?
