Hi all

Did not want to hijack the other nearby thread, especially as that seemed to be aiming at more expensive jigsaws.

I'm after one for a maximum of £50. I don't do a great deal of DIY, and up until now have been using my dad's B&D which is over 20 years old and quite knackered! He said he needed it back so I thought now might be a good time to invest....

I'll mainly use it to cut MDF (mostly 18mm) and ply of similar thickness - maybe a tad more. But once the job in hand is complete, it might not be months - maybe years - until I use it again. Hence why I don't want to spend loads.....

So anyone got a recommendation of make and/or model to go for (or to avoid)?

Many thanks

Max

Are you cutting lots of curves and shapes? If not then a circular saw would be more useful TBH.

Other than that I'd recommend a B&D or Bosch green for under 50 notes.

You'll probably find your old mans B&D on Ebay for a tenner, and likely will be less knackered too.

Thanks for the tips guys.

On another forum I've been recommended the Ryobi EJS-500QEOi, but I cannot find a single review for it.... It is currently available for £31 which seems a very good price.

Any thoughts on the make/model?
