It's now nine hours since I finished painting a door frame with this stuff and it still feels as tacky as it did then. Supposed to be touch dry in 3-4 hours. Not a new tin, couple of months old. Has been used previously without problems, but that was over existing gloss. This is the first time I've used it over primer/undercoat ( Crown Performance range). Have I done something wrong? Can paint go "bad" in such a short time. Is there anything I can do other than rip the frame out and start again. Not a preferred option, but it's the bathroom and I need to get a door on.

Might have been a temperature issue. Even though I don't think it's been too cold today. Put the heating on earlier and it seems to be going off now.

Air flow is more important than heat alone.

I guess that you have fewer windows open at this time of year. If the paint is oil based you can add a tiny amount of terebene (by rustins) to speed up the drying process
