Hi All,

I've been cooking in the dark and now found out why the food is only hot on one side.....the turn table is not turning.

I have taken out and tested the motor and it does work, the buld was blown, md230v 20w g2. Is there a relation between the bulb and the turntable motor?

I replaced the bulb with one from Wickes, still there is no light and no turning. Only differece is its a 15watt instead of 20watt but that shouldnt stop it from turn on? right?

Any pointers, anything that I can check on the PCB's or carry out any other tests?

Thanks in advance.

Does the motor recieve power when it is switched on, the turntables can stick and the drive shafts/coupling can wear

I havent measured the voltage while its on but I took the motor off and it turns when I plug into mains.

Also I can turn the turntable with my hand so I guess the coupling is ok?

What happen if there is no voltage going to the motor? where do I look then?

thanks

How easy is it to turn the turn table as those asynchronus motors are damn hard to turn by hand.
If it is very easy to turn I would think the coupling has worn, depending on type it should be hexagonal or more often round with a flat side on the spindle and drive coupling.

Hi,

The motor realy stiff, I cant turn the turn table at all.

The original bulb was 20watt, the one I replaced was 15watt. Would that have anything to with the bulb and motor not working?
