I have a 10 year old hollow door with a hole in it. As it is basically a cheap door I was gong to replace it but cannot find one that matches the others. Is it possible to repair the hole ?

take a bit off wood[6mm ply] 2"bigger than the hole screw a screw in the centre as a handle
place no nails or simmilar on the overlap area manoover with the screw into position pull forward against the inside edge to form a sunken lid
when dry remove screw and fill

or alternativly pad out the hole with paper till you have a small 6mm ledge all the way round behind the pannel and at least 10mm deep hole
fill up the hole in two or three layer dependant on filler requirements
