Sat dish tripod

Wooden post not the correct diameter. It will fray and move.
Should be a second "Clamp near the bottom.

Seeing that, now is the back secured?

Ahh i see, the bottom will be Pegged down with 6 metal pegs ( it allready weighs a good 5 kilo), will bolt the post at the bottom , the back is fixed to the post using the dish's pole clamps, usually used to secure to the bracket, as the pole is the same diameter

Noooooooooooooooo the post in the insert will rattle.

As it is only tied in at the top, with that clamp screw ( the one just down from the top of the metal pole).

You are confusing "tripod" and "monopod". There is no triangulation, so it can never be as stable as a tripod.
