I have a Potterton 40 boiler. Hot water is coming on, light on timer panel for CH says radiators should be on, however all radiators stone cold (both up and down)
tried re-lighting boiler no effect, put on manual no effect.
I am missing a simple trick

Is the pump siezed? Is the controlvalve working?

Thanks for the advice but not quite sure where exactly to look.
Is it in the boiler (attached to kitchen wall)
would it be recommended opening the boiler and trying myself, or should pay to get an engineer out.
(take it I should turn the water off first before taking front cover of boiler off.)

The pump and control valve will be outside the boiler un less its a combi (or of coures if sombody has intalled in the boiler casing :) ) Us e abrowser to search for central heating pump and Grundfos, and for the control valve Danfoss or Honeywell. Or of course Screwfix. Then at least you'll know what to look for.

your pump is going to be near your hotwater cylinder

but it is not that as you would have loud noises and the boiler cutting out in HW

its the valve

If your are not sure get someone in

its more than likely the sycron motor 10 parts hour labour

Thanks for your help.
central heating came on this morning, but two of the 5 radiators cold, heat at the incoming pipe - will bleed these
