blocked taps

I live in london. the flow of water on both my hot and cold tap in my bathroom wash basin have reduced to virtually nothing in the last few months. Not sure if it is calcium in taps, valves or some other problem. Any suggestions

Tap washers spread, mechanisms jam up with scale, and taps fed from iron pipes or tanks fill with rust. You gotta take the things apart.
Not just in a "flow straightener" on the end is it?
