I can offer 2 suggestions....you can buy an adhesive specially for doing that. It allows a bit of movement. Make sure the boards are screwed down properly first though. Or you could first screw a sheet of ply on top of the boards before tiling. That means there's less movement and less chance for the tiles to crack. Personally, in my bathroom, I layed down 12mm ply first and then used the special glue as well.

Hi - sorry to hijack your thread! We're starting laying our bathroom tiles this weekend - we've already done the preparation, laid exterior grade ply so it's fully even etc. I was just wondering if you had any tips on which particular adhesive & grout are the best to use? Thanks very much.

Make sure you put a sealer on top of your plywood before tiling.

As for adhesive & grout,I've not heard of any bad one yet,but best to get it from a Tiles shop (not from diy stores) as they specialise in their products and they don't want any come back etc...........

Brill - cheers for that. The floor's literally just ready for the tiles to go on now but as it's the first time we've done it I thought I'd better check for any no-no's on the adhesive.
