Years ago I had automatic bleeders fitted on upstairs radiators. Very cheap, simple device filled with balsa wood which, when dry, allowed air to escape and when wet, sealed off. Is it possible to buy anything like this today please? Anybody know?
It is possible, I've got one. Wouldn't bother again, though. If the system is properly flushed clean and contains inhibitor, it doesn't produce gas (well, mine doesn't, anyway)
Thanks for reponses.
In my case am pretty certain problem is not caused by corrosion or gas.
System is 5 years old and maintained annualy by a professional and is fully charged with Fernox.
Am fairly certain the problem is a small leak somewhere but as all piping is under the flooring it's a mommoth job to find and cure.
Maybe a dose of leak stopper could help?
If it's a suction leak pulling air in, most likely a compression joint on or near the suction side of the pump.
If water leaking out, and being topped up with fresh oxygenated water all the time, then if you haven't found it yet, may be under the ground floor (leaks with fernox leave a noticable sticky brown toffe drip)
You're sure it isn't overpumping into the F&E and picking up dissolved air that way?
