hi wonder if u can help me dont know if something is wrong or not.
just moved into a new house, have a ideal classic boiler i think it is with a hot water tank in cupboard upstairs and a tank in the loft.
when i put the hot water on it only seems to heat up for 20 mins then turns off and the pump is red hot should the pump get hot many thanxs

Hi...How hot is the water getting .

The pump will get hot, however if the pump is red hot and the water coming out of the tap is not very warm then there is a problem.

What is the boiler thermostat set at?
What is the cylinder thermostat set at?

hi thanxs for reply the water is fine the stat on the cylinder is at 50

theres a dial on the boiler with numbers up to 6 it is set at 5

not used to this type of system old house had combi boiler

Is it Ok now or not?

You should check the the header tank is full of water to about 100 mm. Its a small tank about 500 x 300 x 400 high.
