wiring hood to cooker point

Im just wondering if its safe to wire the hood to the cooker switch.seeing how its got 2 points to wire to in the switch,L1 and L2,then even if the cooker is switched off the lights and the hood should still function but is this safe?any help appreciated.

what does this cooker switch look like? icon_confused.gif

it is OK to do as you say, BUT you MUST fit an ACCESSIBLE 3A FCU in line to the hood.

yeah done that sorry should've mentioned it thanks for the help just needed to double check i wasnt going to burn my new kitchen down haha.great site this helps us amateur diy folk to keep it safe.

YOU MUST USE THE SAME SIZE CABLE AS IS USED IN THE REST OF THE CIRCUIT, IN ADDITION TO FUSING DOWN.
