I have a stackable Kenmore Laundry Center which is having a cycle problem. The machine fills fine and goes to agitate for around 30 seconds, then drains about 3" of water, refills the water and then agitates for another 30 seconds...this whole process takes about 4-5 minutes and happens 20 times before the machine finally gets rolling with the rest of the cycle, which it does finish after about 2 hours...it happens on all settings and I have already replaced the timer...

Ideas?

Please help!

It sounds like your washer may be syphoning out the water. Check the drain pipe to make sure it is not stuck too far down the stand pipe and that there is an air break in between them.

Thanks for responding! How far down the drain pipe should the hose go? And as far as an air break goes: what is that and how should I set it up?

Thanks a ton!

An air break is nothing more than having the hose out of the water in the stand pipe.
