I removed my old built in oven and the wires were connected in socket holes wich were then screwed to hold wires ihave now got a zanussi wich has just got screws on the connection board anyone have any idea how to connect other than to bend wires and then screw tight wich seems dodgy to me :?:

that method is fine. usually where this method is used, the screws have large round heads and thinner shafts, usually a square washer under the screw head too, to secure the wire.

:!: :!: :!: You surely don't mean screws into a socket like this :?:

JohnD, you know full well he means the terminal holes on the cooker, when he referred to "socket holes".

I don't know that, I saw the word "socket" and wondered!
