Please can somebody tell me why do you need different adhesive / grout for porcelain tiles? Having just done half the shower it would be good to know!

Staining the tiles, make sure you use a sealant when the job is finished.

The adhesive has additives to help it bond to the less porus porcelain.

A higher spec grout is needed in showers as most of the standard grouts are only suitable for a simple handheld showerhead, once you start using pumped showers the grout is subject to a lot more wetting, something like BAL superflex would be suitable.
