Hi all,

I have purchased a new thermostatic shower (Xmas presnet to myself)as my old one has been leaking something awful for the last few months. However the connectors are 15mm whereas my pipes are 22mm - is there anything I can do as I went to B&Q and they said they did not do anything to reduce the pipe size - any help is appreciated as I have limited funds this close to Xmas - many many thanks

You must have been asking the wrong person, Was he collecting trolleys in the car park?

You can easily get a 22mm to 15mm straight connector. A compression one is easy to fit but unsightly if on view. A soldered fitting is much neater.

If the pipes are visible it may look better to reduce to 15mm at ceiling level, and run 15mm chromed to the mixer.
You could also use a 22mm service valve with a 15mm reduced in one end. http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=100122&ts=72790&id=95682

Many thanks John - I should have been slightly more specific, what I need is a 22mm (Male) reduced to a 15mm (female)

Do you know if these are possible, who would have thought that 2 pipes could cause so much complication!

The pipes are coming straight from the combi boiler (I think) and are running behind tiles down to the floor (into the kitchen where the boiler is) - worse case is I can take a few tiles off and then try and solder on the reducer pipe

thanks for your help

regards
