You haven't really explained the question very well, give more info and I'll guide you through it.

I am fitting low voltage lights into an insulated void (rockwool) of a timber floor - previously a loft ceiling - How much space is required around each fitting??

Hi

I take it the downlighters are powered via a transformer?

If so you can run power to the supply side of it from the existing cable in the bathroom (no earth required as they are double insulated, just make sure the existing earth is terminated!).

As far a clearence is concerned, they generally state a 0.5m clearence from the front of the fitting, but from the back i'd clear the rockwool back about 4-6 inches all the way round, just to be safe!! (the buggers can get very hot!!)
