If I were to remove tiles from a bathroom (that were put up really badly - by the council) would it need to be skimmed by a plasterer before i could re-tile it?

thanks

Hi....I'd say no, just get some plaster and fill the worst of it, if neccesary in layers, but keep it below the level.....Mike

If its not to bad you may get away with thick bed adhesive.

yeah the only problem i have with this job, is that... If i drag the tiles off and it needs plastering, its not in the budget!!! (and its not my bathroom either lol!) so if i take them off i will end up footing the plastering bill as i'm doing this as a favour for the in-laws!!! I might just re-grout and clean it all up for them.
