Just buy a new chrome plated waste fitting for it unless you are a purist. In which case you could maybe get the old one re-chromed, so long as you can get it off in one piece.
I dont get much chance to play with the likes of that these days but when I did I usually got the waste nuts off by heating them with a blowtorch and tapping the nut round with a hammer and an old screwdriver or a big pair of grips, stillsons or footprints™. Sticking 2 suitably sized screwdrivers through the plug hole and putting some sort of bar through them would stop the waste fitting from spinning round if necessary __________________ Eagles may soar high but Slugs" don't get sucked into jet engines |

Have been trying to find out about the possibility of doing just this with my old cast iron bath. Seemed a shame to get rid of something just because of the grotty waste.
I'll give your suggestions a try.
Thanks |
