Hi all,

doing some landlord certs and came to one of the above and when tried to ignite fan starts, air pressure switch clicks, electrode sparks, but not igniting (gas valve not letting gas through?).
Still relatively inexperienced  when comes to repairs - please help!!!
Any ideas other tests or common known problems?

either blocked pilot light or dead gas valve

check voltage on gas valve

The pilot injector is probably blocked!

Guys, am I missing something here  - no permanent pilot?

SHeesh Mark they rectify via a mercury bulb or via a pilot light (depending on age)

I would strongly recommend that you keep to CP12's and try and get on a boiler breakdown course ASAP

yes you are,it has an electronic pilot no pilot =no main burner check the above posts

Check out the Fault Finding chart in the back of the MI. (Which, of course, the customer has don't they? ;) )

Can't understand your confusion Softus. :?: This model has a pilot which lights (with an electrode) prior to the main burner lighting.
Aha - that fact passed me by. Thanks - no longer confused.

Sure it's got a pilot - lit when required.
Blocked pilot (does it light?)
Spark not getting to the right place (can you see it?)
Gas valve solenoid (see if open circuit)
Gas valve sticking (volts on it?)
Dud control box/pcb (volts from it?)
Bad earth stopping flame rec working
Reversed polarity
No gas

This post will be deleted soon as it's a diy forum and a dangerous boiler.
