Bang from boiler/burner

My boiler makes a very loud bang when it's heating up (usually after about 10 mins) The pilot/burner light then goes orange in colour and it's a very worrying sound! I called an 'engineer' (he was crap!) and he couldn't find the problem.
Also my pump is now worryingly more quiet than it used to be. It has the 3 settings and even on the max setting it's doesn't sound right any more - HELP!

Try looking at the status of your three-way valves. If they are not opening properly this will give the sysmtpons described
