filling of cold water to washing/mach

Why?
When the cold water flows into the machine we get a loud filling of water.This also happens to a cold tap(both these on ground floor)But this does not happen to the other cold feeds in the house!! icon_question.gif

Could the washing machine and sink be mains feed and the other taps from your storage tank ?

Spot-on!!

These are the only cold water feeds from the mains, the rest, are from the tank.Would I have to re- pipe them?? If so I shall buy ear plugs on wash days icon_exclaim.gif
