What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

As a small follow-up from my earlier post, I finally managed to do a motorway only fuel check. It was a petrol station start and finish journey of 250miles.

The journey unfortunately featured quite a few delays there and back, with a lot of slow crawl traffic at times.

The trip computer came out with 67mpg as a figure, but interestingly it was being more conservative than the actual fuel use reality.

The measured fuel use calculation came out as being 70mpg! That was also with a car full of people and luggage.

It also means I may have hit nearly 80mpg in the past as the highest trip number I have ever got was 76mpg.

Amazed at some of the MPG I still get with HDi Peugeot Citroen engine. When I drove to Czech Republic 4 years ago, I filled up in Bristol and was half way across Germany before I needed to trouble my fuel filler cap.

Also confirms why I would never touch EVs. Imagine being in a foreign country at night, fixated by the range meter, desperately seeking a working charger and hanging around in sub zero temps for 90 mins while the stupid thing slowly sucked up some volts. No thanks!

All this 70 and 80 MPG stuff does sound jolly impressive. I'm almost tempted to give up my 250-300 MPG, but I couldn't really live without the three-and-a-half hundred horsepower, now I'm used to it... ;)

Yeah, but it's a bit extreme having to ask your passengers to push it for miles, just to get your mpg figures :)

Daily > 27 year old BMW saloon, probably the best car I've ever owned.
Occasional > 38 year old Range Rover classic V8.

As you can see I'm not a fan of modern junk & I'll not be drawn into endless discussions about saving the f..... planet.
I've answered the original post .. I'm done (y)
But what about the Planet?
