Jeff Banks' name was never mentioned until the confusion arose.
Then you only mentioned his name to clear up the confusion.
I suspect that if the confusion never arose, his name would still not have been mentioned.

I like winning, like probably every other person on the planet. But I don't think I'm a daffodil.
