'It's gone too far'

By your own admission you don't care that Brexit has damaged the economy.
Nothing I can do about the economy, I certainly aren't worried about it other I might be a bit pizzed off that some things cost more than other things now. That's just life though isn't it.

An easy to understand graph for folk who are still finding the impact of Bre*it hard to grasp.

I await his apology.

It is abundantly clear from these: https://www.diynot.com/diy/search/16869219/?q=rnli&c[users]=motorbiking&o=date that you are wholeheartedly opposed to the RNLI rescuing people in distress when those people are asylum seekers crossing the channel in small boats, people you portray as "illegals".

If you don't want the RNLI to rescue them, what's the only alternative, the non-rescue thing you want them to do? And what's a very likely outcome when people in distress at sea are not rescued?

Join the dots from how you want the RNLI to behave to the likely outcome if they do. Follow the logic. It's not possible to want someone to follow a course of action which has a particular result and not want that result.

It really is not.

I (famously) stopped my donations some time ago now and knew plenty of boaters who did likewise.

I say famously because it caused considerable outrage on this forum, particularly by people who had never donated to the RNLI.
me too - I donate to independents only.

I know plenty of ex RNLI who now volunteer for independent Lifeboats and I know plenty of people who donate to independents for the same reason others have stated.
I know a lot of ex-RNLI people who now volunteer for independent life-boat services due to the "work" the RNLI do in the channel. They pretend its a tiny amount of their operations, but when you look closely at the data something like 20-25p in every £1 goes on taxiing illegals and there have been vessels left to seek help from freighters due to RNLI boats tasked on Uber duty.

Follow the logic. Join the dots. You've stopped donating to the RNLI because you don't want them to be rescuing small boats in the channel. If you have done that, and started donating to independents, what on earth would be the point if the independents are carrying out the same sort of rescues?

Join the dots. Follow the logic. You say that a lot of people have left the RNLI to volunteer for independents because they don't want to be rescuing small boats in the channel. What on earth would be the point of that if the independents are carrying out the same sort of rescues?

Nobody gets left to die

I would sincerely hope not. But if an independent lifeboat called out to a small boat in distress in the channel doesn't leave the people to die, they must turn out to rescue them. Join the dots. Follow the logic.

So if they ars still going to turn out and mount a rescue, what's the difference between their "taxi service" and the RNLIs? What's the difference between volunteering to crew their their "taxi service" and crewing the RNLIs? What's the difference between donating to support their "taxi service" and donating to the RNLIs?

and the role of independent crews is not to fill the gaps.

And there we have it the very apotheosis of a troll and troll behaviour

What's your definition of trolling?

Is it "being logical and analytical"?

What, exactly, about my post contains evidence that I wrote something deliberately offensive or provocative with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them?

The trolling behavior is searching and resurrecting an old thread just to troll somone, trolling behaviour is going on and on about somthing the trolling behavior is spending hours writing long posts just to attack someone. You are trolling.

Yes : MBK.

"Independent life boats dont agree with RNLI fishing certain people out of the water."
"For the above reason, I support the independents, and not the RNLI".
"The independents fish those certain people out of the water."

Sums it up.

The trolling behavior is searching and resurrecting an old thread just to troll somone,

No - the accepted definition of trolling is along the lines of antagonising people online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content, or posting to ‘bait’ people, by deliberately provoking an argument or emotional reaction, in some cases by saying things they don’t even believe, just to cause drama.

What you've described is actually due diligence to ensure that someone's position is fully understood, and provable.

What you've described is actually being thorough to ensure that my position is properly elucidated, and that in replies to others to unsure that all of their points are properly addressed.
