Hi all
I've been contemplating what material to cap my parapet with. The parapet is single block with cedar cladding mounted on battens. Aluminium coping kits look ideal however expensive so I'm considering stone. I fibreglassed up and over the top of the parapet. Would I simply lay the stone...
Hi All
I have built a single story extension and It has a parapet style flat roof that I have fibre glassed. Its cladded externally in Cedar and I am looking at coping/capping options for the parapet. Lead appears to be a far cheaper option compared to Aluminium capping or stone.
My question...
Hi All
My single story extension is ready for first fix wiring. I am extending the ground floor ring main into the new room to supply the sockets however its going to be difficult to access the lighting circuit of the original house in order to extend it without ripping flooring up in various...
Hi All, I am preparing my concrete base for liquid screed over 100mm PIR insulation. 2 questions...

Hi all
What fixings would you recommend for securing aluminium bifold doors to H&H 3.6n blocks? Are they too soft for regular concrete screws or would you suggest using Fischer frame fixings instead?
Cheers

Thanks for the replies. I must say it does make me a little nervous! What would you say a reasonable price should be for this amount of screed supplied and pumped by a company?
But it would be a flowing liquid? is it any different to someone mixing up their own self levelling floor screed which is done all the time by Diyers...
Hi All
After getting a £1250 quote for 18m2 of floor screed at 50mm, I thought I would investigate other options. I will require liquid screed for my extension with underfloor heating. I cannot go for a dry screed as I only have 50mm to work with.
Has anyone ever DIY'ed liquid floor screed? I...
Thanks Stuart. Good to know. For peace of mind and to keep BC happy, I will bite the bullet and will use Helical ties. Is a pilot hole still needed in the timber?
About 7. :) I can only see them sold in packs of 100 and then a 50 quid tool is required for the drill. Also, can helical ties go Into timber? I figured 150mm screws and a squirt of resin would be just as good...
