    Electric shower internal leak

Correct. It's just a push fit with an o-ring. To be fair the existing o-ring looks to be in good shape and there's no debris in or around the seat. Will give everything a clean and replace the o-ring anyway and hopefully we should be good to go Cheers

    Electric shower internal leak

Electric shower, triton kiko. Noticed it leaking from the bottom while in use. removed the cover to reveal the leak coming from the joint arrowed: Ive not stripped it down but i looks like the joint between the contrasting black and white plastic is bonded in such a way that makes it non...

    Led dimmer switch compatibility

I just replaced one of my light fittings with an LED fitting. On operating the new light with the existing dimmer switch there is lots of flickering and buzzing when switching on and when dimming the lights. (The light unit is dimmable). After a while the flickering settles down but the buzzing...

Double socket failed (one side only)

I've done all your suggested checks and everything works fine. I suppose it's just a case of some internal component failure like you suggested with cheap sockets. The thing is this one wasn't cheap. It's one of those fancy black nickel flat plate types...not a bog standard plastic one. You'd...

Double socket failed (one side only)

What would potentially cause only one side of a double socket to stop working? I've got a double socket that when installed was working as normal. Over time a socket on one side has stopped working. I would have thought that if the wiring was loose, the entire unit would not work or the...

    Cable rod kits

Need to get one of these kits to do a wiring job where I've got limited access to a floor space. When buying one of these kits is it better to go for a kit with longer rod lengths or shorter ones? Just thinking of the trade off between using multiple shorter rods screwed together with more...

Replacing existing lights with LED downlights

Great thanks for confirming. Cheers. Cheers yes I was thinking of doing something along those lines. Just wanted to understand if I'd need to make any other wiring changes first.

Replacing existing lights with LED downlights

My current setup is as follows: Two lights in the hallway (let's call them Light 1 and Light 2). Controlled by two-way switching from two switches (one at each end of the hallway). I want to remove the existing lights and replace with 6 LED downlights, ( the type that get linked together one...

Bath shower mixer handle removal and correct valve?

I don't know the make and model and it has no identifying markings. I've got the cartridge out which came with the handle which it is firmly seized to. It's looking like a complete replacement but I'm not in a position to be re tiling the entire wall so going to have to try to limit the damage...
