Ok, if looked at the wiring instructions for the drayton zone valve here: http://www.draytoncontrols.co.uk/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=10510 and my wiring diagram is beginning to make a bit more sense now. I think some of the confusion here is some of the cables have been joined/replaced...

2 looks like, one on a pipe coming from the hw cylinder and one by the boiler

Tony, sorry I'm confused, do you mean remove my existing programmer and install the heatlink in it's place with the same wiring (live, neutral and earth then connections for call for heat and water) and just replace the room thermostat?

Seeing as the current systemnis working, would wiring the heatlink as suggested above just work fine?

But doesn't the nest heatlink need to be installed for the thermostat to work? Is that what you're suggesting?

Right, here's a picture of the motorised valve on the pipe, i can't tell you what pipe it's on as i have no idea what pipes are what. Also pictures of other pipes from the boiler. Also there are only 5 cables coming from the motorised valve as shown (the bottom set of wires in the pic, it is...

Nest 3rd generation Thermostat and C-Plan system

Success!! Changing the dip switch has allowed seperate control of HW and CH, i can't believe i've been running the same together all this time. Many thanks fopr your help again. Regards to the wiring, i've attached a very crude diagram (the best I could do). Just a few things to note: The...

Many thanks for that. Just to clarify: my existing wiring to my current programmer go to terminals 3 & 6(hw and ch on). Am i also to understand that i need to join terminals 2 & 5 to the live on the Nest? Again many thanks

Nest 3rd generation Thermostat and C-Plan system

The heatlink will go in the same place as the existing programmer which is next to boiler in downstairs toilet, the nest stat will be in downstairs hallway. Open plan living area so don't expect problems with signal, will onlt have to contend with a couple of closed/open doors (i get albeit low...

Nest 3rd generation Thermostat and C-Plan system

Cheers, i will check the wiring and see if that'll work. If it is the case, would wiring to the Nest stat be straightforward as in my 1st post, what about the common terminals on the Nest? Will these need to be connected as i only have 2 wires going to my current programmer.

Thanks for your help, so if i change the dip switches on the programmer to fully pumped it will work although the water is gravity fed?
