Air trapped in open vent system

Thanks I’ll give this a go. If I was to run heating and hot water demand at the same time, shouldn’t this move the air around the system hopefully up the vent pipe?

Air trapped in open vent system

How about setting the heating to both watwr and radiators, then maxing out the pump? Where will the air escape for me to bleed it?

Air trapped in open vent system

Will this remove the air that’s stopping the two radiators from heating up? Could I instead loosen the nut on the 3 port valve that goes to the cylinder instead?

Air trapped in open vent system

Hope someone can help me out.. I drained the system a few days ago to change a rad valve and alter some other pipework for a towel radiator. I now have air trapped in the system on both sides: - Two radiators don’t seem to heat up, all air has been bled from them. - The boiler is making...

    Hole for shower waste (help/advice)

Well no, fortunately the point of this forum is for DIY advice. If I wanted to hire a plumber I wouldn’t have posted this lol PS, if you don’t have anything helpful to add then please just politely scroll past. Thanks

    Hole for shower waste (help/advice)

Hi all, Currently installing a new resin shower tray around 22kg. I’ve gone for a low profile one and have had to cut a hold for the waste to be flush with the chipboard flooring. Question is, is that hole too big and could cause integrity loss? I have no access from underneath and I need to...

    No HW OFF Y Plan

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. I think I have figured it out with the help of my neighbours setup as they have the same system as myself (new build estate circa 2002). The wire missing for the HW OFF (3rd wire which I needed) was repurposed as a permanent live to the Nest in the airing...

    No HW OFF Y Plan

The main issue I have is the Nest thermostat randomly disconnects with the receiver, I’m not sure why and I’ve tried many things to try and resolve it but to no avail. One other gripe is that there isn’t a heating boost option in the Nest which I overlooked and Hive allows us to do this.

    No HW OFF Y Plan

Hi Stem, thanks for your advice. The cable you highlighted is one of the boiler cables either SL or PL, there’s two black cables coming from the boiler which are then going into the connector blocks independantly and then into the wiring center. I think disconnecting everything would be a...

    No HW OFF Y Plan

Yes it was definitely in the kitchen which is why I’m baffled. I’ve already tried removing the HW off but then the heating doesn’t work. From the Hive diagram (and Nest) this does look like how it’s supposed to be wired? I just don’t understand how it worked before without the HW OFF, unless...
