it doesnt get that far, literally pump runs for a few secs, stops and beeps twice then after 5 secs does the same thing the base isnt flooded, and if i lift the polystyrene float up, the pumps runs constantly

Hi, We have a Smeg integrated dishwasher. It has no display, just the 5 programme LEDS, and programme selection button. The issue is as follows: dishwahser seems "stuck" in a loop. First programme (rinse) light is on, on shutting the door, the pump runs then stops and it beeps...
