It is quite a lot different to a panel or oil filled heater and more like a proper conventional radiator. They’re extremely heavy and made from thick steel. They stay hot for a long time after they have been turned off and retain the heat well. Totally different to the panel heaters or portable...
Also just to note on those electric radiators I bought. You can get them with either a 3 pin plug on them or a hardwired option for the fused spur. So you can put them literally anywhere. They look nice too (I got the anthracite coloured ones). They come in different sizes but they’re not the...
I’ve just had a similar issue. My apartment does have night storage heaters in it and each heater has 2 hard wired 13a connections. They’re so uneconomical as you have to guess the weather and even then, they never provide sufficient heat. So I’ve taken them out and replaced them with electric...
Hi All,
I have a Hot Water cylinder that is heated electrically.
I’ve noticed that during heating times, it continues to sound like a boiling kettle even though the temp on the thermostat is set at around the 75 degrees temperature. I would expect this to then cut out once it has reached this...
Yes. They’ve said they will need an electricians report first so have asked if I can get an electrician to confirm the meter set up and if I do that, they’ll cover the rest.
Thanks but Northern Powergrid advise the following on who owns what when looking to move a meter (which I’m not but this still explains who is responsible for what).
Northern Powergrid - we are responsible for moving the service cable and fuse that is connected to your meter.
Your Electricity...
I’m not sure I understand this? Bulb own the meter. Northern Electric don’t exist anymore.
So the first point of call has to be with the meter surely which belongs to my energy supplier.
So just as an update to this. I’ve spoken to bulb(my electric supplier) today who agree that it should only come on between 0:00 and 07:00. I’ve taken a video of cylinder today powered on and also a video of the meter showing the red lights flashing on both the peak and off peak at the same time...
Thanks Alec_t, yes, that only controls the boost option if you want to use the boost. And then depending how many times you press it, it will come on for either half an hour, one hour or two hours or off again if you press it 4 times.
it just seemed weird that it came on by it’s own accord...
I guess the bit I’m also having a problem with is if it was down to the tariff switching, why would it not have switched straight back on when I turned the wall switch back on? All I did was flick it off and back on again and it stopped heating up.
