    oh interesting, I can't see anything on the cylinder other than where the element is, and where the pipes go into the cylinder. How can you tell? Do you know what would I be looking for? and yes looks like it's a single element

    With power off, continuity across the thermostat terminals reads .002. Not sure what you mean by dual immersion, sorry, it just has an on/off switch on the wall

    Immersion isn't providing any hot water. There's not gas to the property, just a coal back boiler, which isn't currently lit. Here's what I've done so far, can I do anything more?     I have a coal back boiler that heats the hot water (there's also an immersion) and 6 radiators using 8mm pipes. Ideally I'd like to replace this with gas central heating, but the costs of removing the back boiler and getting connected up to the gas mains, I'd like to try to save a bit of money...

    I have a Parkray 99 coal back boiler which I struggle to understand! After having the chimney swept, I lit the fire and put the front top lever to the left and it heat the hot water up great. The next evening, it heat it up a bit then stopped, and now it isn't heating up the hot water at all...

    Putting a new sink in the utility room, the 40mm waste from the kitchen comes through the wall so I thought I could use a tee for the new sink drain. It's an old painted compression fit cemented into the wall/floor, if I cut it and put in a compression Tee I'm worried there won't be enough flex...
