Promax rapid rise in pressure when on

Hi, thanks for the replies. I let all the pressure put the boiler side by turning the pressure relief valve knob and checked the dial read zero on tye front of the boiler. Then I pressurised the pressure vessel with a pump to the pressure on the side of it and then the system via the fill loop...

Promax rapid rise in pressure when on

Hi. I have a Potterton Promax Combi HE + When the heating comes on the pressure rises over a few minutes until the safety valve blows off the extra pressure. If I manually release the pressure to 2bar it then pretty much stabilises and stays there. However once the system goes off and it...

    Stop Leak

Thanks, the model is a Baxi Bermuda. The leak is coming out the front on the right hand side, looking inside I can see water marks on the right hand side at the back? I do realise I need to change the boiler but, I'm self employed and it's that age old thing of 'cash flow' I've got the...

    Stop Leak

Hi, I've got a back boiler heating system. This morning my wife found a small pool under the front of it. When I asked if this was the first time she'd seen anything she told me she'd cleaned up staining on a couple of occasions now....but hadn't mentioned it  The water is dirty with...

Toilet flush doesnt seem to have much suction?

If the water is coming out the cistern as normal but, the level in the bowl is going up, I'd guess you've got a blockage. Not a full blockage but, a restriction.

Heating control display blank. Heating will not come on.

Just re-checked. There is a bit of dark seapage from what looks like a valve which is directly above the pump. There is a bleed (?) screw above it and the seaping is coming form there. The top of the pump isn't wet but, it is a little stained ontop and over to the electrics box on the side...

Heating control display blank. Heating will not come on.

Ok yeah, fuses don't really wear out but, I didn't want to face it.# Tonight it blew again, new fuse went in and it came on, I advanced it, it blew again. I've had a sh*t day (have had the wife in hospital, car broke down, etc) and didn't/couldn't deal with engineers, etc. So I turned the...

Megane 1.6e 1996 - Loss of power, loosing Revs

Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. Has the fuel filter been changed ? Is it past the service interval when it should've been changed ? If it's not then change it, it'll probably look filthy and/or rusty if it's not. Possible dirty injectors too if the filter's not been changed and has...

    Fiesta

Are you getting a good supply to the carb. Have you removed the fuel pipe from the carb and had someone try start the car for you (while having the end of the hose in an empty bottle) There should be regular pulses of petrol splurting out the pipe. If not then chances are it's the pump or a...

    Tracking and brakes...

Tracking is the allignment of your wheels. The norm is that they are both just a tiny amount turned in from parallel. This is adjusted by means of the track rod ends which are (usually) towards the rear of the car behind the disc. They are screwed in or out to lengthen either 'track rod'...
