Spot on, thank you!!! The magnet thing had come unscrewed from the motor spindle. I've put it back together with a couple of drops of threadlock, so hopefully that'll be it sorted for good. Thanks again, Alan

Yesterday my FJS1225W developed a strange fault. Whenever the drum should be turning slowly (eg drain, fill, etc), it starts off slowly as it should, then has a sudden burst of spin speed, before returning to normal speed. It sometimes hasn't completely spun back down to normal speed before...
