I have wondered that. Because the council are being so obstructive, I will see if the builder will change this. To be fair on on the side of the house which nobody will see but I totally understand.

I've provided the calculations for the lintel but now they are saying it is out with their scope of practice to verify these and I have to get a qualified professional to check over the calculations.
Maybe the window installation was not meant to be. :(
