Unvented Cylinder with Combi Boiler help

An update - it turned out that the valve between the boiler and the cylinder had been shut off, hence the heavy use of electricity. Since opening it though the boiler appears to be heating most if not all of the day (every time I've been up to check it, it's on or pumping) and I can hear it at...

Unvented Cylinder with Combi Boiler help

Bad news. With no power to the vented cylinder, although the high readings on the smart electricity meter have dropped - unfortunately this afternoon we have no hot water from the taps. I'm confused as I would expect if the cylinder is being filled by the system boiler then the water should...

Unvented Cylinder with Combi Boiler help

Ah ok, not sure why I thought it was a combi boiler. So guys am I right in thinking I just need to turn off the immersion heater? If so how do I do so? Or would it just be a case of turning the thermostat down on it? Or get some one out to look at it? Cheers.

Unvented Cylinder with Combi Boiler help

Hi All, I'm new here so please be gentle :) Ok so here goes - I moved into a new house back in June and was told that the next to last owner lived here with her nephew and had opted to have a vented cylinder installed in order for there to be no contention for hot water when both showers in...
