I laid laid the sub base and because it's gravel going on top I couldn't guarantee it's totally flat. If I was putting pavers on top would it need to be completely 100% level though?

So I've layed the type 1 base for my gravel patio and whacked it down. I've actually got about 1/2 tonne left but I wanted to check for any low of high spots before finishing so I used the whacker plate to get a good idea. I'm a complete novice so I wanted to get it right.
