Thanks all for the advice, new battery installed and looks like it's done the trick.

So I have switched it off and the panel goes off almost instantly. What battery do I need and one I have it is it easy enough to replace?

The escape didn't work, and still flashing. No power cuts or diy. I take it I can't disconnect it myself?

Bought a new house about a year ago but don't use the alarm the key pad has been showing a phone number for the past year. Tonight it had a long tone but the display is now showing ***************** and flashing, put the code in and the tone stopped. Any ideas on the display and do I have a problem?
